ASTRO - love & hate relationship

Yesterday, I was out in my front yard and saw a beautiful sky. Without thinking, I took out my dad's camera and began to shoot some pictures. I havent snapped any pictures for quite sometime because my small laptop cannot accommodate adobe photoshop. IT IS DEPRESSING. but like any other photographer(wannabe), it didnt stop me this time. These were taken yesterday, sometime at 7p.m.. I may have enhanced the color, but the sky was indeed PURPLE-ish. What a beauty, by the ALL-MIGHTY.




I figured this would be appropriate, considering the unnecessary attention given to ASTRO by the parliament lately. I thought if I only bold the word "NO" in "MONO", it would be more meaningful and reach out to a deeper level. but, of course.. I wasnt using photoshop, so mending it would be impossible. damnit! I miss playing around with it! =(



On the contrary, I do think that media, especially ASTRO is an important medium to our social and cultural thinking. It makes us (at least to me) realised that there is another world out there. We can always argue about the content and its quality, but no one can deny that ASTRO connects us to a whole different world that we never knew before, and yes.. ONE HOME AT A TIME.

I know, you might argue that I would be naive to just trust what is written or aired in the tv. Of course, there is some crappy channel, misleading news and things like that. but hei, you dont have to trust everything they say. I know I dont.

Oh and if u ask me, I do think ASTRO could use some competition in the industry. If I may quote (an economist which I forgot his name):

Greed is Good, But Competition is Better.
